IT-based writing and projects
The branching
design of IT-based documents and programmes demands a special kind
of thinking. Writing for the web requires a 'fractured' narrative with
less sequence than that for other media. A producer or project manager for
IT-based media must understand the interlinking roles of technical, design
and creative contributors. I've demonstrated a grasp of all these
elements. Talk about your project and I'll come up
with a proposal that is practicable
and inventive.
My
involvement with software-based creative projects began when I introduced
computer graphics into BBC educational programmes in the 1970s. Since then
I have managed interactive information, training and point-of-sale
projects for major banks,
consultancies, retailers and motor manufacturers. The picture
(right) shows an innovative touch-screen system for Ford UK Ltd and their
contractors Imagination Ltd - I was the interactive project director.
