Mike Harrison

Picture plus copy packages

As a trained tv and film director and publication picture editor I’m acutely aware of the importance of relevant illustrations. These visual skills allow me to offer clients cost-effective packages combining copy with my own photographs or with a brief for a photographer or graphic designer.

Taking photographs in the same brief session as an interview is often the only way of  persuading a busy subject to give up a diary slot. Also important is the opportunity to make the pictures relevant to the content of the interview — handouts or library pictures rarely fit as effectively. I can offer my own 35mm photography — especially effective for portraits or technical subjects or, sometimes, re-use of photographs from my own library as a budget alternative to bespoke photography.

Alternatively I can book and/or brief specialist photographers on your behalf — I have an extensive contact book — and can work with them during an interview, tv-style, if time is pressing. Similarly, I can select and/or book and/or brief graphic artists on your behalf.
